This campaign aims to pay the bills pending in the clinics, for the treatment of animals that appear in the colonies that we protect and for cases that ask for help and we cannot deny it even though we do not have the means to pay for the treatment.
Mr. Antonio is an 88-year-old who feeds and treats 80 stray cats daily on the streets of Porto.
This campaign aims to pay the bills pending in veterinary clinics for the treatment of animals that appear in the colonies that we protect and in cases that are asked for help and we cannot say that even if we do not have the means to pay for the treatment. They are animals that live on the street and are fed by us. Right now there are about 80 stray cats that we feed every day. In this pandemic period, there were many abandonments in the colonies, which caused one of them to lose control and urgent intervention to avoid litters. As the City Council takes so long to respond, and we had to act quickly so that the pregnant females were sterilized, avoiding the birth of dozens of kittens in the street, subject to all dangers, we increased our bills at the veterinary clinics even more.
In addition to sterilizations, we feed these animals every day and we had 3 serious cases that ended up increasing the bills even more. Blue, a white cat with carcinoma in the ears and several metastases throughout the body and the 2 babies with pneumonia. In addition to the others we were helping and with appeals we were able to pay the bills.
We survived thanks to the help of individuals, but at the moment we were unable to settle the accounts.
