We want to create a comic book about the original superhero of Portuguese literature: The Vigilante. Inspired by the classics of American comics, the Vigilante protects the innocent and fights crime in the Metropolitan Area of Porto (Portugal).
We want to create a comic book (graphic novel) based on the Portuguese literary character O Vigilante, which was previously published as a short story and received very positive reviews. Inspired by classic superhero stories like Batman and Arrow, the Vigilante is a serious, adult, and realistic approach, characteristic of classic superheroes, but adapted to the Portuguese context.
Now, it's time to adapt The Vigilante to the format in which superheroes were born: comic books!
As this is the first visual adventure of this superhero, we also aim to immortalize the streets of the Metropolitan Area of Porto in comics, promoting places and monuments. Additionally, the project seeks the active involvement of brands and people, both collectively and individually, in the development of this work. Therefore, the crowdfunding campaign will include:
- Request for the support of the municipalities of the Metropolitan Area of Porto where the adventure will take place.
- Examples: a chase in Aliados, a fierce fight at Maia Aerodrome, a hostage situation on a boat in the middle of the Douro River near the Gondomar walkways.
- Request for sponsorships to incorporate products and brands naturally into the narrative (product placement), from companies strongly involved with either the Porto region or the narrative itself.
- From motorcycles and drones to energy drinks and technology made in Porto or Portugal, large companies will have the opportunity to integrate their products into the narrative in a natural way.
- Smaller businesses and companies located in the Metropolitan Area of Porto area can also participate, whether it's a scene in a bar or restaurant where the protagonists are conversing, or a robbery or hostage situation in a hotel or Douro River cruise; these are just some examples of other ways to integrate and promote their spaces naturally within the narrative. This sponsorship is available to any small or medium-sized enterprise, including bars, restaurants, hotels, tourism companies, etc.
- Limited sale of participations in the narrative to fans and readers: this is where the average citizen comes in.
- Supporters may appear illustrated in the narrative, becoming immortalized in the 9th art, whether by meeting or even helping one of the characters, or even by giving faces to the protagonists as "actors".
- For those who don't want to go that far, they can be included in the acknowledgments section, among the small but great heroes who helped finance this project, or be executive producers (an honorable mention at the beginning of the chapter) or even the book's patron.

The book
The book is planned to have 80 A4 pages of narrative (excluding credits and other extras).
Conceptually, the project aims to bring together several experienced illustrators who will offer a different perspective on both this superhero and the urban spaces of the Metro Area of Porto. Each artist will draw part of the book, with a different style and vision, a contribution to diversifying its image and giving each chapter its own visual identity. From classic styles to manga, cartoons, or digital 3D, the book itself will be a collection of visual art. But above all, it will be a comic book made by fans of classic American comic book superheroes, for fans of them, but adapted to the Portuguese reality.

Don't wait any longer, because rewards are limited, and without the success of this campaign, the comic book adaptation of this superhero from the Metropolitan Area of Porto cannot proceed as planned.

Hoje o projeto recebeu o seu primeiro grande apoio, ao receber fundos do primeiro patrocinador de ouro a associar-se ao Vigilante!
Para já, posso adiantar de que se trata de uma grande empresa da área da informática, o que significa que não se poderão aceitar outros patrocinadores da mesma área de negócio. Contactem-me se tiverem dúvidas quanto à elegibilidade da vossa empresa.

Neste momento, estão angariados 570€ (13% do orçamento total), sendo que parte são fundos incondicionais, ou doações, já que não serão devolvidos caso a campanha não atinja o objetivo, por opção dos apoiantes. (Muito obrigado!) Isto significa que, apesar desse valor ser pouco, já é viável avançar com um plano B: para já, estou a planear a produção de um livro de bolso, com poucas páginas, com uma pequena aventura d'O Vigilante e com a promoção dos apoiantes de pré-compra e agradecimento a produtores executivos e agradecimento respetivamente. Ou seja, neste momento, posso adiantar que mesmo que o valor pretendido (4197€) não seja angariado, já se pode dar como certa a produção de um pequeno livro de bolso!
Portanto, quem ainda não contribuiu por pensar que não será possível atingir os 4197€, que o faça, e se possível apoiando incondicionalmente, para viabilizar a produção de uma pequena obra que, por mais pequena que seja, prometo que será sempre um marco da BD nacional!

Hoje a campanha arranca oficialmente! Já foram enviados comunicados para a imprensa e os anúncios nas redes sociais já começaram a surgir, esperando que cada vez mais pessoas tomem conhecimento desta iniciativa.
Uma pequena nota para quem pretender:
- os apoios no elenco secundário e no elenco principal: após submissão do apoio irão ser contactados para validar as personagens a que pretendem dar cara e para assinarem um pequeno contrato no qual terão de ceder a vossa imagem, a fim da mesma ser usada no livro
- os patrocínios de ouro, platina e prata: após submissão do apoio irão ser contactados para assinarem um contrato publicitário onde serão especificados todas as condições do patrocínio
- os apoios institucionais: como são apenas para municípios, escolhi não os colocar aqui, por favor contactem-me diretamente para submeter este apoio manualmente
