The Longest Museum in the World is a book that opens up a new way of seeing and thinking about Estrada Nacional 2, with photographs by Álvaro Domingues, Duarte Belo, Valter Vinagre, Daniel Malhão, Nuno Cera, Paulo Catrica.

"The greatest narrative we can imagine. N2 is a guiding thread, a thread for those who follow it. This movement, or displacement is translated into a speech, an idea or a narrative. A path of images that move in the imagination, a gesture , an 800km topographic profile of the country from north to south, from Chaves to Faro." Pedro Campos Costa

“N2 is a guiding thread, a thread for those who walk along it. This movement, or displacement, translates into a discourse, an idea or a narrative. A journey of images that move in the imagination, a gesture, an 800km topographical profile of the country from North to South, from Chaves to Faro. This mark on the territory is an Ariadne's Thread, which does not seek a single solution, does not seek to be scientific like trial and error. A thread that unravels the labyrinth full of clues for discovering new spaces and ideas.
Today it is a great repository of many possibilities and perspectives for reading the territory and, consequently, our identity.”

“Along the 739.26 km of road, we propose a networked exhibition device, which transcends the idea of a traditional museum, made of myriametric landmarks in the open and immersed in the landscape. Without this relationship of openness to the landscape, the sense and significance of the project disappears, it is completely lost. The scale of magnitude with which we christened the project - the longest museum in the world - could not be further from an idea of narrative or power. Rather, we intend to express a desire, a unity, for open relations and commitment between community and landscape: the unity of the open sky.”
Eduardo Costa Pinto

The longest museum in the world gave its name to the exhibition at the Antechamber Gallery, where the eighty photographs included in the book, a model of the territories through which the road is built and the first prototype of the book were displayed.
