KIMOV HOLIDAY CAMP 2026

Help us fund the second edition of KIMOV's summer camp!

The first edition of the KIMOV Summer Camp took place in 2025, and the feedback we received from all participants exceeded all expectations: it was a space for socializing, exchanging experiences and perceptions. For the organization, this was also a source of pride: we managed to create a longer and more immersive activity in the same month that we obtained our official NGO designation.

Above all, this was an opportunity for the girls we work with to explore the options that exist in the professional world , while also becoming better at their favorite sports: surfing and kitesurfing !

Since this event was a real success from the perspective of all parties involved, it seemed clear to us that in 2026 we had to repeat the feat :)

This year, we will be organizing the second edition of the KIMOV HOLIDAY CAMP from August 23rd to 29th .

What can we expect this time?

• Surf lessons every morning;
• More artistic and dynamic group activities;
• Moments that invite personal reflection in a positive and safe space;
• Introduction of the new group to the KIMOV project;
• Introduction of the 2025/2026 school year members to the new girls who will join the 2026/2027 school year;
• Lots of fun surprises!

We have many dreams for this project. From introducing sewing concepts to deepening knowledge about water sports, to cultivating multifaceted interests and conscious and ambitious mindsets in our girls, the summer camp serves as the inspiration for the activities we carry out throughout the rest of the year.

While the first summer camp, at the request of the group that attended it, had a more pronounced vocational focus, this year we decided to change course a bit and bring arts and crafts and group exercises to the center of the program.

But then, why can't we reveal in more detail what's coming next?

In order to provide the girls at KIMOV with the most complete and enriching week possible, we need your support. Your contribution will help us ensure:

• Surf lessons with certified and highly competent instructors;
• A communal meal during lunchtime, following invigorating surf lessons that last all morning;
• Art materials for creating personalized community-based projects;
• A daily snack;
• The issuance of participation certificates;
• Conditions are guaranteed on the ground to receive KIMOV volunteers;
• Kimov merchandising for all girls;
• The celebration party marking the end of the summer camp, where the girls' families join us for a unique family bonding experience.

Our goal is to empower girls on Sal Island. This event is the starting point, the first contact most participants have with our organization, the moment when we talk about expectations and goals to achieve.

All of our projects are designed taking into account the input of all parties involved, seeking to ensure the sustainability of our mission.

About the author

Kimov - Kriolos in Motion We are a newly formed association, based on the island of Sal and with a branch in Portugal, focused on the empowerment of girls on the island of Sal, Cape Verde.

On Sal Island, we have already established partnerships with Island Kite School and RB Surf School, through which we are developing an innovative project that uses surfing and kitesurfing as tools for social transformation. More than teaching a sport, we aim to strengthen self-confidence, resilience, independence, leadership, and female representation, showing young women that they are capable of challenging limits and building their own path.

Because we believe that the development of a community should start from its greatest potential, we also look at what makes Sal Island a unique territory: tourism. Far from seeing it merely as an economic activity, we see it as an opportunity to bring people together, share knowledge, and create social impact.

3. Afternoon workshops in visual arts and group activities.

August 29th: Final celebration party and distribution of participation certificates.

Budget:

(Your contribution will help cover the costs of this activity; it will not fund it 100%).

• Group surf lessons of 15 x 6 days - 600 euros
• Daily meals (15 people x 6 days) - 450 euros
• Writing and painting materials and certificate issuance - 200 euros
• Daily snacks (15 people x 6 days) - 120 euros
• Other logistical and administrative costs - 200 euros
