Konsê is an intervention project and pretends to fight the privation of medicines in São Tomé & Príncipe, more precisely located in a Health centre in the city of Neves.
The population of São Tomé lives constantly deprived of the right medications. Physicians tend to change urgent prescriptions due to the lack of medications.
I checked that, with no records of consumption of medicines and health products and well-being, people of São Tomé do not know the real needs. Some NGOs that support them by sending these consumables, mourn the incoherence of the lists they receive with demographic data of the population.
This is why Konsê comes! This project intends to create a database at the Neves Health Center, which gathers information such as stocks, consumptions, medical prescriptions, medications and missing consumables. With these registers it is possible to know the most urgent needs as well as the precise quantities at a lower cost.
Thus, the policy of supply of medicines becomes + sustainable and we all give together "one step in health"!
I believe in a world where we all have access to medicines. What about you?
Believe it too and follow me to São Tomé. Let's make things happen!
About the author
Rita Romano Adão
I'm passionate about good and I think I can make a difference. This is what I'm here for!
I'm a pharmacist and I work daily for the community. I know how people feel when I have to tell them that the medicines they need are out of stock and although this rarely happens in Portugal, in São Tomé is still a reality.
Although the facts are different, I can easily adapt myself in unpredictable situations and resilience has always accompanied me. I believe that the beginning is soon. This year I will mark my footprint and make Konsê a successful sustainable project!
