The goal of this campaign is to raise enough money to sponsor the course of Free Fall to someone that is available to be the first paraplegic on the Iberian Peninsula to achieve the course after the injury.

The injury resulting from the shot against my backbone is irreversible. I will never walk again.

But freedom is not fenced to me. I already had the opportunity to perform jumps but I did it with another person because to do it by myself  I need to have the Free Fall Course.

For an adventurous person without mobility problems, to obtain this course is pretty easy and financially affordable. But to meet all the needs of a paraplegic person, the course that will allow me to fly by myself is very expansive, including travels to Madrid for training and physical evaluation in a wind tunnel

The goal of this campaign is to raise enough money to sponsor this course, the travels to Madrid and the wind tunnel.

The success of this campaign will help my old dream come true. I also want to make HISTORY, by being the first paraplegic of the Iberian Peninsula to achieve this course after the injury. Even in Europe, as far as known, nobody made it.

This course will also allow me to participate in national and international competitions of this modality, without depending on third parties availability and interest.

Your contribution will also be an incentive to freedom and independence above all physical condition, temporary or permanent.

I count on you!

Thank you

About the author

Hi,

My name is Jhony. I’m 42 years old and I proudly am Portuguese-Venezuelan! I have the desire of flying since I was very young. After I saw TOPGUN movie the desire became a goal to achieve. I tried to join the Air Force but I couldn’t because I did not have the physical requirements.

On January 3rd, 1999, some weeks before reaching 21 years of age, I was robbed and the result of the shot is the permanent paralyzation of my backbone from the d12 vertebra on. I became paraplegic as a consequence of this incident.

My life changed and I was forced to adapt myself to this new reality but the dream of flying never desappeared. I needed almost 20 years to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

In  2018 I took acknowledgement that there was a skydiving school that made jumps with persons who have reduced mobility. I didn’t wait long and I went to perform a jump and I’ve repeated it this year, after the confinement.

But, something is missing for me to feel complete in this experience. FLY BY MYSELF, without depending on other people or on a trainer.
