UPCycles - Making a dream come true

Provide the means for the participation of Grace Ribeiro, an emerging Cape Verdean artist, in the UPCycles Audiovisual Creative Residency 2022, which will take place in Mozambique.

I, Grace Aline da Luz Ribeiro, a young Cape Verdean, hereby ask for financial support to participate in UPCYCLES - Audiovisual Creative Residency 2022, which runs from May 14th to August 28th (virtually), and from August 29th to September 10th (in person), in Maputo, Mozambique.

Due to the acceptance of my application, I was selected for this prestigious Creative Residency, promoted by the Associação dos Amigos do Museu do Cinema in Mozambique and whose main funder is the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

UPCYCLES has been providing unique opportunities to emerging PALOP artists with tutoring by resident artist Ângela Ferreira, which this year is joined by the artist Rita Rainho in the tutoring functions.

However, Cape Verde's insularity limits the amount of air connections with other countries, which unfortunately impacts the cost of traveling.

Although the Residence will contribute with the amount of 800 euros, this amount is below what is necessary to finance the trip and stay.
