"The Last Supper" emerged from a very simple premise: a kitchen, a dysfunctional family and a voyeuristic camera, which reveals the behind-the-scenes of a turbulent lunch.
Synopsis: Vera insists on organizing her mother's birthday party, as it would be beneficial to her mother's favor. However, her siblings, Nádia and João, don't trust her with the task, and a battle of egos ensues when Vera announces she's brought a more appropriate cake for the occasion.
What we're proposing is an independent film, without big pretensions, but honest to the material we have: imperfect characters, a dysfunctional family and a miserable cake, which serves as the vehicle for this family drama/comedy.
We appreciate any contribution you can make, as it will be through this Crowd Funding that we will be able to make this film!

Although we've been working throughout the summer to raise money, we realize we need help to close the budget and ensure we can make this film under conditions that respect the people who will make it happen—the actors, the crew, and the family and friends who offer their support. We aim to:
-
Provide proper nutrition to the team;
-
Pay all cast expenses;
-
Pay the cast, even symbolically, for their time and work;
-
And ensure that the Art Direction has room to work and recreate the best they can for a family lunch.
We're not trying to pay for a big production. We simply want to make this film with dignity and with the space we need to work on it properly. All forms of contribution are more than welcome!
Thanks.
Budget and due dates
Since we no longer rely on external support, crowdfunding through this CrowdFounding campaign becomes an essential part of ensuring the film's completion!
The estimated budget is between €1,100 and €1,400 , which will be fully applied to the following areas, according to the provisional budget:
-
Team transport, decorations and equipment - €206
-
Cast Transportation - €170
-
Food - €280
-
Symbolic remuneration for the cast - €330
-
Set Design and Props - €145
-
Wardrobe - €15
-
Image Disc - €60
This amount (€1,200) represents the minimum necessary to ensure the film is produced with proper conditions and respect for the work of the team involved . Both the Director (Vasco Morais) and the Production Director (Raquel Rosa Porfírio) will contribute financially, and we are counting on the support of this campaign to reach the desired total.
Shooting is scheduled for September 2025, lasting four days, subject to location availability . The film will be edited depending on the editing team's availability; since classes begin in October, we anticipate editing will be completed in February 2026. We intend to invite all those who financed the film, or helped in any way, to a screening of the short film in the António Reis Room, located at ESTC, as well as to enter the 2026 festival competitions.
We thank you in advance for your attention and any help you can give!
Thank you for your understanding, The Last Supper team.
