Ties of Blood Father and Son (an adventure for two) and for the love of others

My eldest son gave me the challenge of walking with him 4300km across the United States, together doing the Pacific Crest Trail and in this adventure he struggles with the ideas for the book that he longs to write and revert all profits to CASA - Centro to Support Homelessness.

We were having dinner and suddenly: "Dad and what do you say we spend 6 months together walking in the middle of nature, you and I with a backpack on our backs, do 2650 miles about (4300km) and I take the opportunity to gather all my ideas and write the my book". This conversation appears at the table during the quarantine. The idea at first scared me, but I quickly got into the spirit of adventure and experiencing months for two, together in full nature, without civilization around, he and I would be the adventure of a lifetime and reconciling much of the time I spent away from life. of him for dedicating this time to others (I am a psp agent). The Pacific Crest Trail, is a trail that crosses the United States, starts at the border of California with Mexico and goes to the border with Canada.

It crosses the desert, the mountains. several forest, heat, cold and snow a lot of snow, but besides the dangers of crossing inhospitable terrains, meeting with wild animals, the idea of overcoming this adventure with him will be something that I really want to accomplish.

In 3 years he will finish 12th and in this terminus I really want to start this adventure with him, of course there are no adventures without the economic power, everything has its cost, if it is possible for me to try my luck to have help to accomplish something like this it would be a dream and the thanks would be eternal.

The value I propose would be a good push in that dream because it will cost more than that, but it would already be such a big help.

He is a committed student and has his dreams, he has always dreamed of becoming a doctor and helping others. That is what he has to say, today he dreams of writing a book and being successful and, with that, reverting all the gains of that book to help others (CASA - Centro de Apoio ao Homeless). As an example last Christmas we went to give him a sandwich and a glass of milk to those who need it on the street. This is the son I have and I would love to be able to fulfill the request.

About the author

I am Fernando 42 years old I am a PSP agent and lately I see the time passing fast, too fast, I am the father of two children and soon they grow up and the said promises that we do this and that will be postponed from day to day and from week to week there, even when we realize years have passed and some of these promises are not possible to fulfill.
In an attempt to be able to partially compensate for the absent time, which despite everything I do not consider lost but invested in another way in their lives.

I am the father of a daughter, Maria and a son Gabriel, and speaking of him who launched the challenge, he is a kid who loves helping others, and I think I am at fault in this process, as he grew up watching his father leave home to help others, stop spending parties and special dates at home, because I always said I would help those in need. He wants to be a doctor and works tirelessly for this and he really wants to help the most needy, he dreams of being able to do it free of charge. Nowadays, in addition to all his dreams, he wants to write a book (he has always been participative in everything that concerns reading and writing at school), and wants this trip for two to make it a reality. However, I just want to enjoy the time with him and in that time do a photoreport of the whole trip and portray it in a book and maybe I can help a little more in his cause.

Budget and due dates

the Campaign would be to fund:

- help fund travel - that would be 2023

- arrange local sponsorships to help fund the production of the book, as I have already started contacts with publishers.

- any amount obtained will be used in order to pay only for what I asked for, the rest will be paid for by me and all the rest will be donated to the referred association, with no personal profit just an advance help because I do not have to pay for this entire adventure alone. And as true as I am if I can, I will make a record of all expenses and respective invoices where I will prove the veracity of our intentions.
