Hello, my name is THOR, how are you?
I want to tell you my story. :)
I am Brazilian, my dad and mom adopted me in São Paulo. They took me to the doctor as soon as they found me, as I was not as strong as today.

My dad always says that I am his big one and always fills me with kisses and hugs. Every day we play with my ball. My daddy throws my ball away and I run really fast to take it. It is very nice! He also always finds me a nickname, one hour is "Amorzão", another time is "Thor Manoel" haha my dad. My mommy plays with me too, but the time I like her most is when I go to sleep on our bed, and spend the night snoring on her pillow :)

Our move to Portugal was very fast. One fine day I was at our little house in São Paulo, until a gentleman called my dad and asked if he wanted to come to Porto. I heard my dad say that I would love to go to that beautiful city, but would only go if I went along.

The gentleman understood, and agreed to wait for my dad to get my documents. There were a lot of emotions but in the end everything went well. We moved to Porto, the whole family together.

On the trip my dad was very anxious, I was fine, I slept the whole trip, I won many parties from people on the plane, it was great !!! :)

Here in Portugal I adapted quickly. There was no way to be different, the people here are very dear and affectionate. At the beginning people said that I was "cute" I didn't understand much, but over time I learned these words you know :). I made many friends, there are so many ... there are Lucy, Beiças, Marias, Bento, Xavier, Boris ... there are many. I love them all!!!

I've been here for just over a year. This year was a little difficult for my dad and us. In addition to the pandemic, my dad was out of work for 2 months. We were tight, but the sky daddy didn't miss anything. I always saw my dad doing interviews and when he got work we were very happy :)

A few weeks ago we faced another challenge in our lives. I was diagnosed with lymphoma, which is a type of cancer.

At first we were sorry, my mom and dad couldn't sleep. They always hugged me. After a few days, God gave us the strength to fight for me to be okay. We know that nothing is impossible for Daddy and that everything will be fine.

Now I am undergoing treatment at UPVet at the University of Porto. In addition to the chemo, my mom is making many healthy foods every day for me, in addition to the ingredients she puts a lot of love and affection to see me well. Sometimes it feels like I'm in a restaurant. I'm loving it!!

Right now we are looking for a little help for my treatment.

My name is Thiago Mahado, I'm 35 years old and I work in the technology area. My wife is called Nara Ludwig, she has a background in health but has not yet found a job in Portugal.

We came from Brazil, Nara and Thor. We decided to face the challenge of a major change in search of more quality of life and a better future.

The challenges were many, it is not easy to change countries, but with a lot of faith in God we gradually adapted and took the stones out of the way.

We are still on our initial walk, but we feel good with everything here and we can already feel that life here is more peaceful and safe. We have faith in God that little by little we will get together and have a good life, we will have our little house, Nara will have a job and we will prosper.

Budget and due dates

Thor will be on treatment for at least 1 year. Lymphoma is a cancer that at first has no cure. Dogs with this diagnosis live from 1 to 3 years. In some cases I have seen reports of dogs that have lived more than 5 years. I believe that everything depends on the dog's organism and varies a lot from case to case. At this time we ask for help with the medications and tests that Thor needs to do periodically, in addition to the drugs and chemo.
