This project offers : Information, Development , Education, Inspiration and Motivation!
The project “Tejo, Artery of Portugal” will document the entire route of the Tagus River through Portuguese territory, revealing landscapes, communities and stories that deserve to be known throughout the country — and the world.

Queremos o Tejo todo!
Type “Rio Tejo” into Google and click on “images”: practically only photos of Lisbon appear. At least 80% show only the mouth.
Through exclusive aerial images , authentic interviews with locals and videos captured during a trip we will take on a paramotor tricycle , we aim to reveal the essence of this river , a symbol of Portuguese identity, culture and national unity.
More than landscapes or thousands of images, we want to tell new stories, never told before , highlighting the cultural diversity, tourist and commercial potential of the cities, towns and communities that are part of this incredible route.
We need your help to make this documentary!
We chose crowdfunding to remain true to the essence of our mission: to promote the Tagus River, its riverside residents, their cities, their stories — and everything they have to offer the country and the world.
Help us tell stories!
We want 100% of the Tagus in searches.

About the author
Carlos Rix
- Independent journalist | Content creator | Promoter of the Amazon and now with an eye on the Tagus
Carlos Rix, as a Citizen Journalist (CJ), has written over 140 articles in English for the South Korean newspaper OhMyNews International .
Between 2006 and 2008, he traveled through the Amazon at the invitation of the local government to show the world the best that Brazil has to offer. As a citizen journalist, he participated in the coverage of FIAM (International Amazon Fair), at the invitation of SUFRAMA .
Now, he has taken on a new mission: to document the entire length of the Tagus River in Portugal, with authentic aerial images, interviews and videos. A paramotor crossing that aims to reveal the essence of the Tagus and its riverside communities — from its entrance in Vila Velha de Ródão to its mouth in Lisbon.
It is an independent, poetic, empirical, visual project, made by those who believe in the power of good stories.
Budget and due dates
In fact, to carry out this project as we envisioned, we will need €10,500.
Our aerial journey involves several costs: we will need to pay the pilot, as we estimate between 5 to 6 days of flying, with stops every 30 km. The journey is planned for the last fortnight of next summer. We can't set fixed dates, as several factors — especially weather conditions — may require us to adjust the schedule.
The remaining amount will be allocated to the support van, driver, production team, supplies, recording equipment, food, and also the production and delivery of the rewards for our supporters.
We want to uncover the hidden wonders along the Tagus, and reveal the true richness of this river, which is the soul and identity of Portugal.
It is our hope that the riverside communities will welcome us with open arms — and that they will also be the main contributors to this journey.
In each town, we aim to capture unique images, talk with local leaders, and showcase their attractions, shops, hotels, and everything that makes these destinations so special.
We believe that the Tagus itself — and those who live along it — will be our greatest allies.
