The return of a dream — at full speed

My name is Francisco Costa, I’m 31 years old and I’m from Celorico de Basto, Portugal.

Since I was a kid, I’ve grown up with the sound of engines and a passion for rallying — something that’s always been part of my life and my family.

I started in karting, where I learned the first lessons about competition, technique, and perseverance. At the age of 20, I finally entered the world of rally. With my family’s support, I took part in several races and gradually gained experience and courage.

But as my professional career took off, I had to hit pause. Balancing work and the high costs of the sport became impossible.

Today, with more maturity and determination, I’m ready to return to competition. The goal? To race in the Penafiel Racing Fest 2025, one of the biggest motorsport events in Europe. And for that, I need your help.

I want to compete in a Peugeot 208 Rally4, a top-tier car in its class, and live this experience at the highest level. The total cost is around €8,000, covering car rental, fuel, tires, registrations, licenses, testing, and prep.

Is it a lot? Yes. Is it a challenge? Absolutely.

But I believe that with the support of each and every one of you — whether it’s €5, €15 or more — we can make it happen. This campaign is being hosted through PPL’s Causas, which means that all funds raised will be used, even if the full amount isn’t reached.

And more: if the necessary amount isn’t raised, all funds will be donated to a social solidarity institution to be chosen. No contribution will go to waste.

My name is Francisco Costa, I’m 31 years old and I’m from Celorico de Basto. I’ve always had a deep passion for motorsport, largely inspired by my family’s connection to rallying.

From a young age, I took part in competitions, starting with karting and moving into rally at the age of 20.

For a while, I had to take a break due to the demands of my professional career, but the desire to return never left me.

I’m a determined, focused and committed person when it comes to the goals I set for myself.

This project represents not only the return to a passion, but also the beginning of a new chapter — with greater maturity and responsibility.

I truly believe that, with the right support, I can reach this goal and take an important step in motorsport.

The Penafiel Rally 2025 is the next big challenge — and this campaign is the very first step.

The total cost of the project is estimated at approximately €7,500, plus platform fees, resulting in a final goal of €8,000 for this campaign.

• Competition fuel and tires: €1,000
• Technical tests and car setup: €700
• Photographer and videographer: €300
• Car livery/decals: €700
• Race assistance: €500
• Car insurance: €1,000
• Platform commission and safety margin: €740

This budget covers nearly all the essential expenses for participation, ensuring both competitiveness and safety during the event.

• Launch of the crowdfunding campaign
• Fundraising and institutional sponsorship outreach
• Logistics planning and rental agreement for the Peugeot 208 Rally4

Early June 2025

• Official registration for the event
• Testing and tuning of the car
• Production of promotional content and branding with sponsors

June 27–29, 2025

• Participation in the Penafiel Racing Fest 2025
• On-site presence with brand activations, media coverage and audience engagement

July 2025

• Sharing of final results
• Delivery of supporter rewards (when applicable)
• Final project report

If the campaign goal is not fully reached:

The amount raised will be entirely donated to a charitable organization, to be announced, ensuring that the project has a positive social impact regardless of the final outcome.
