ZenSenses - Therapy by the Senses: Training, consulting, sessions and products

We intend to open a company of Therapy by the Senses! We will create something unique, with varied services and products of quality, with greater incidence in Snoezelen Therapy.

ZenSenses was the first to introduce Snoezelen Therapy - Relaxation and Multisensory Stimulation  - to the general public in Portugal, without associated patologies, bringing a new concept to the country, working for example with children and pregnant women.

Created in 2011, it is already a reference brand in the area of Snoezelen Therapy.

Along with this growth, the process of formalization of the company is under way, which, we believe, will translate into more work and more demanding challenges.

Our model of action is based on the proximity to the client, and the activity is carried out in the place chosen by the client, wether institutions, schools, companies or at home. The training courses reach the whole country and islands.

After six years of uninterrupted activity, we already have some partners which regularly host our actions.

Several studies show that one in five portuguese suffer from mental disorders and therefore we want to help prevent and combat the stress of everyday life. We stimulate the senses with creative methods and pride ourselves on offering a unique combination of professional experience and personalized service.

In the company that we want to create, open to all who want to discover the world of sensations, we will have events and training courses, we will develop a diverse range of therapeutic activities, with emphasis on Snoezelen Therapy, our main object of work and permanent study. There will also be an area dedicated to the sale of products and the development of projects involving the creation of Snoezelen environments (consulting services).

We are investing in a Website that is already being created by a team of webdesign and communication/marketing.

By the challenges we all face daily, where we are impelled to constantly overcome ourselves, ZenSenses aims to be an effective response, taking the lead in Snoezelen Therapy in Portugal and "who knows!", other countries!

Ana Lúcia Frutuoso, age 31, from Oporto. Occupational Therapist for 10 years, working in a community center. Trainee counselor since 2008 and has accumulated extensive knowledge and experience in the monitoring of people with mental disabilities and psychiatric disorders.

Created in 2011 the brand: ZenSenses - Therapy by the Senses. "I love to teach and pass my knowledge, to put people thinking and being creative, the idea of training in my speciality, Snoezelen Therapy and other therapeutic activities, came naturally. Then came the sessions (Snoezelen at home and at institutions). It is very gratifying to end the session and see the smiles and gratitude stamped on the faces! It's grate to be in touch with a variety of people, to be able to help those who need it and to learn more and more."

In the area of social responsability, created a volunteer project in Cape Verde with children in need in 2013, becoming the association "SER+ DAR+ Therapists Without Borders" in 2016, having already a broader intervention, in which she is president.

She is the only Occupational Therapist to provide training in Snoezelen Therapy and in therapeutic activities in Portugal and Cape Verde. Dynamic, versatile and practical, she has the word "persistence" as a motto in her day-to-day life.
