Head Office TAOD

Tuna Académica de Oliveira do Douro - TAOD managed to achieve his dream! The Vila Nova de Gaia County held a protocol provided a space with Tuna Académica de Oliveira do Douro that will be our future Head Office. To embrace this dream in the best way we would like to count on your support!

On May 24, 2001, a group of young students just entering college, with a taste in common for music decided to start a story: Tuna Académica de Oliveira do Douro - TAOD.

Accentuating the cultural, social and recreational character which always aim to demonstrate, develop various activities such as performances in parishes, associations, parties in schools and other events.

Also participated in several Academic Festivals, already having a vast history of awards, of which we are very proud.

In December 2007, we became Association in order to grow increasingly doing what most pleasure gives us: please others with our music and good mood!

Over the years, we have managed to develop walking with "the house to the back" and going through several places where we were welcomed: Oliveira do Douro Committe, Kindergarten in Quebrantões, Cultural Association and Dramatic Rocha Silvestre and again at the Oliveira do Douro Committee.

For some years we do auditions in the Auditorium of the Committe, with the "Head Office" storage space with few m2.

After 15 years, the dream has come true! The Vila Nova de Gaia County held a protocol provided a space with Tuna Académica de Oliveira do Douro that will be our future Head Office.

We believe that this transfer was the recognition of the intense cultural work that our association has had in Vila Nova de Gaia, national travels and representations throughout the country and even some international raids over the past 15 years. This space which we call "home" certainly enable us to more and better, we will take this opportunity to grow and develop an important work in the cultural, social, musical and academic.

An old school Kindergarten and, as such, needs some work, especially in the kitchen area to serve the various activities held and the day-to-day Association.

This Head Office will be an engaging community space where some actions will be developed:

· Cultural: exhibition of different arts of the parish and county;

· Education: childcare with learning difficulties;

· Social: development aid activities to the needy.

We want to take advantage of this wonderful gift that has been given. So to embrace this dream in the best way we would like to count on your support! Part of the construction of our "new home"!

ONCE UPON A TIME ... Tuna Académica de Oliveira do Douro!

It was on May 24, 2001, in Oliveira do Douro Committee, who founded the Tuna Académica de Oliveira do Douro, a space where university students of the parish could, through music, the joy and the academic spirit, live, dignify and disseminate Oliveira do Douro and Vila Nova de Gaia.

TAOD is a joint Academic Group composed of University students and some graduates of various courses and various universities, driven by friendship and love for music, they began to gather.

During 15 years of existence, TAOD has performed at parties, festivals and cultural events, promoting and participating in local, national and even international initiatives, taking the name of his city and his community ever further.

On December 20, 2007, Tuna Académica de Oliveira do Douro took an important step to ensure the future of the institution. From this day, we have become a legally constituted association and, as such, to commit ourselves to society to open the door to all stakeholders to fulfill our objectives.

For TAOD, this is the story that matters; or rather, are the stories that make the companionship, friendship and the joy of all its members, the songs we played and sang, dinners, toasts, the stage, behind the scenes, colleagues, friends.
