Rita granted a place in the Sailing World Championships by achieving the 4th place in the Portuguese Nationals, between 120 sailors (boys and girls) and, by becoming the 1st girl, she was crowned Female Portuguese National Champion.
Due to the economic crisis that our country is passing, there is no support from either the Portuguese Sailing Federation or any other sponsors even though we have tried those efforts.
The family situation has also recently changed because the father is unemployed, being very difficult for the family to pay for this investment of 1.700,00€ for Rita’s participation in the worlds.
This project has the purpose to alert for Rita’s reality and to ask your help, the Portuguese and international community, all her friends and the sailing family, to support Rita’s participation in the Optimist World 2013 which will be held in Garda – Italy between 15 and 26 of July. Rita and her family will be eternal grateful.
