Art Residency: Young Emerging Artists European

The International Forum on Arts and Cultural Management is a scientific and cultural event held in the Northern region of Portugal since 2010 under the first degree in Arts Management and Cultural Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo.

The Scientific Committee of FIGAC 2015 invites 8 European Young Emerging Artists to participate in the Art Residency which will take place in Viana do Castelo from 25 May to 1 June 2015, and will aim at the collective creation of an artistic project will be displayed publicly on June 2, 2015.

Participants in the Art Residency will be located in an apartment in Viana do Castelo, equipped for 8 people, in full board (accommodation and three meals a day) have at their disposal:

- Several IPVC facilities for the development of work (outdoor amphitheater, workshop of plastic arts, drama room, media room, etc)

- Opportunity to make a set of contacts with artists and cultural spaces of the region

- Individual will have financial support from 125 EUR for travel expenses from the place of origin to Viana do Castelo;

- Collectively, a global support of 400 EUR for costs of materials to purchase over the Art Residency in Viana do Castelo and which are necessary for the production of collective artistic project.

The FIGAC aims to promote dialogue and reflection on aspects related to contemporary cultural management at national and international level, and in the medium term, aims to establish itself as a reference area with regard to the dissemination of good practices and the promotion of discussion and scientific literature on topics related to contemporary cultural management.

Budget and due dates

The project budget lights 3000 €, includes the following expenses: travel (125 € for each of the 8 artists), housing (15 € per night) and meals for eight young European artists (3 meals at 10 euros per day) ; materials for the production of collective project (50 € for each artist); the dissemination plan.
