The São José Fort, also referred to as Ilha do Forte, Pontinha Fort or Pontinha Battery, is located 70 meters from the island of Madeira, the Autonomous Region of Madeira. At the moment, it seeks financing for its revitalization.
The Fort is connected to the island of Madeira through a regal provision of 1756 of King D. José. It is accessed by stairs from the Atlantic Ocean and the artificial road that prolonged the Port of Funchal. The building was little valued as a historical, architectural and cultural heritage until recently, when it was acquired by Professor Renato Barros, who, based on a royal charter of sale of the Islet (by the Portuguese crown in 1903), installed the country's smallest world, in 2006: the Principal Island of Pontinha (PIP). Since then, legally and in the light of Public International Law, it is legitimately an intendant country, having as a resident the royal family and all new adherents to this cause. The fort has a high historical heritage, confirmed by two teams of world archeology, and it is currently necessary funding to resuscitate, energize and expose the public. This financing is essential to prevent the sale of the existing estate in the fort. This campaign seeks to raise € 10,000 for a first phase of the project.

About the author
Prince Renato Barros is a lover of the plastic arts, being an artist with appetence for the three-dimensionality of objects, and protection of the felines, considering them his royal guard. In his artistic work stand out the works of pottery and the portrait in watercolor. Cats are their loyal companions, considering, as Ernest Hemingway writes, that "the cat has absolute emotional honesty. Humans, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not."
