The project RAPUNZEL rises from the will to encourage the public to go to the theater at an early age.

At a stage when the Theatre, in Portugal, has due recognition, we seek to change this situation so that people leave home and consume culture through several stories.

We have as aim to decentralize the performing arts for everyone to have the opportunity to see and feel what the theater provides.

We decided to take this tale by the brothers Grimm, inserted in the national reading plan, and take it to the stage so that older people remember this great classic of our childhood and the younger have the opportunity to meet and live a new experience, full of fantasy and color. Besides being present in the school plan of the second cycle, it’s also a children classic capable of moving not only schools, but also entire families!

We believe strongly that the trip to the theater should be motivated by the younger, thus contributing to its culture and education. Throughout our experience, although short, we have found a strong adherence to schools, which has left us proud of our work.

We would like to make an international tour to bring a bit of our culture to Portuguese communities and citizens of foreign nationality.

Given the positive growth of our work, and for our projects to gain even more visibility and impact, we need support to accompany the evolution.

About the author

The AA's of COPAS was founded in 2011 in Leiria by Ana Dionisio and Andreia Oliveira.

Both partners have a degree in Theatre and during the final year, they had the idea of founding this production company.

This desire arose in order to fill the gaps outside the major cultural centers. Given the lack of resources that schools have to travel to these major centers, we decided that we would be more advantageous to bring the theater to them. So the idea of starting projects with pedagogical character arose.

In addition, we welcome artistic projects from various fields and we also dedicate ourselves in training through workshops.

We want to live in a country with cultural habits and for this we have the ambition to contribute to this growth.

Budget and due dates

Não somos subsidiados por nenhuma entidade e os apoios que temos não são os suficientes para o tipo de projeto que idealizámos, uma vez que os elementos são dispendiosos Através destes apoios poderemos ter um maior impacto na qualidade dos cenários e figurinos, para que o próprio projeto seja mais apelativo junto do público. As principais despesas incidem no cenário, figurinos, adereços, maquilhagem, deslocações, material técnico. Dentro de um mês contamos ter o cenário, os figurinos e ensaios concluídos e no mês seguinte começar com a digressão.
