PINGUÇA liqueurs are century recipes inherited from ‘Avó Micas’ that came to our hands in these last years.
This family inheritance was produced along the years, in a small scale and for own consumption, being 2012 the transition year with the start of production and commercialization of our Grandma recipes, who has her name in one of our liqueurs.
Until now, we have been present in small regional markets in the Arouca’s county and in the small local commerce, to do a local implementation study and brand acceptance.
This brand is proud of continue producing this family inheritance in a very traditional way and always respecting the secular recipe.
Our liqueurs are made using the traditional method (without chemical addition), gathering ingredients carefully selected and only locally produced, assuring the quality and characteristic flavor of each one.
Nowadays we hold only a batch of 250 units split in three flavors: Liquor ‘Avó Micas’ (cinnamon), Cacao Liquor and Forest Liquor. This batch was home produced with daily family kitchenware in a very basic way.
We want more, and under the actual influence of our country, we combine this recipe with promoting a region, emphasizing the local micro production and the appearance of rural working places, in the attempt of revitalize Arouca’s county micro economy, special the one in the villages of Alvarenga e Bouceguedim.
With the idea of expanding the brand and business in the country and, maybe, at an international level, we want to test five new flavors, to enlarge the variety and products’ choice. In these new flavors, local herbs like heather, gorse and nettle, will be combined with regional products like honey and fruits as mulberry, chestnut, kiwi, grapefruit and orange/mandarin.
By doing this, we guarantee that all the brandy is produced at the county as well as part of the fruits used are collected here too.
At this moment, the team has two people; Filipa that detains her great grandma’s recipes, Pedro in charge of the production.
