The basic concept is the transformation of what is not used in something with tangible economic value. Utilization of waste and unused materials, converting them into pieces with value and utility.
The projects keywords are the Reuse, Integration and Partnership, all present in the 5 pillars of “O Salão”:
- Occupational inclusion of people discriminated by any of these factors: disabilities (physical and/or mental), unemployed, senior citizens, etc. in the activities of the “Salão”;
- Integration of waste and unused materials in the value chain, converting them into pieces with value and utility
- Promoting “do it yourself” based on knowledge sharing and workshops monitored by professionals and craftsmen, especially in woodwork , metalwork and jewelry.
- Co -work and co -branding , promoting employability.
- Network of supply and demand for services among professionals and craftsmen in various areas ( designers , carpenters , electricians , architects , seamstresses , “cerzideiras” , locksmiths , painters , upholsterers , among others ).
- To promote the occupational integration , we planned cultural activities as a means of communication. Thus these activities ( and the teaching of music in particular ) will take a prominent place in the animation of the activity plan of “O Salão”.
At this time the project, after incubation under an entrepreneurship program of the Santa Casa da Misericordia de Lisboa and AUDAX-IUL, has been granted with the priceless cooperation and participation of partners , employees, suppliers and friends , made possible for the space to exist and is ready now for the start of the production of re-used pieces.
