This project serves to help Inês and Joana to participate in the World Master Synchronized Swimming, organized by FINA in Montreal.

This project serves to help Inês and Joana to participate in the World Master Synchronized Swimming, organized by FINA in Montreal. Inês and Joana pratice this sport for over 10 years which are dedicated to 100 %, and is a strong motivation to be able to include in their sporting career this milestone. This competicion  is not included in the calendar of the Portuguese Swimming Federation, so all athletes who wish to participate will have to do on their own.

The taste, desire, dedication and willpower, our athletes already have!  

They only lack the support  to realize this dream!

FINA, the International Swimming Federation, is responsible for organizing and managing international competitions in aquatic sports ( equated with FIFA , football ), and is also organizing, thus this competicion.

FINA officially created the World Championship Master about 25 years ago, the first edition to be held in 1986 in Tokyo, Japan This event receives , every two years , adult athletes from all around the world . The World Championship Master actively promotes fitness, friendship, understanding and competition through its five sports: swimming, jumping, water polo, synchronized swimming and open water.

The 15th edition of the FINA World Masters Championships will take place in Montreal (Canada) in the summer of 2014.


The synchronized swimming is a sport of swimming, which are worked in the disciplines of swimming, gymnastics, dance and music. The swimmers can compete in solos, duets, trios, or teams, performing a routine synchronized between them and with the music. The synchronized swimming requires a lot of training, athletes need to work the strength, endurance, flexibility, expression, timing, among other things. It's a beautiful sport to watch, and with a strong growth in our country.

About the author

Inês and Joana are two athletes of Synchronized Swimming, 20 and 30 years respectively. Practice this sport for over 10 years with various interests in National Championships, in which anointed senior national champions, for two consecutive years (2009/2010, 2010/2011). Vice-champion national routine combined Junior/Senior (2009/2010, 2010/2011), deputy national champion Junior duet (2010/2011).

Inês studies biology, Joana trains a team of Synchronized Swimming, being now in the process of federating their athletes, in Piscinas de Odivelas, where there’s also, in Municipalia (Pools of Odivelas) that our athletes train.

Will be the first Portuguese athletes to participate in this event!

This is their dream, and they need your help to be able to reach!

It will be a great pride, we can see them to represent Portugal for the first time in this world round.

Budget and due dates

O valor do orçamento, destina-se às viagens e estadia das atletas, ficando publicidade, divulgação, alimentação , filiação e inscrição, por conta das atletas. As viagens rondam os 780 euros por pessoas e o hotel não menos de 100 euros por noite, por essa razão, ser o valor pensado. Pensámos colocar como data para meta o final de janeiro, pois por essa altura já se realizaram as inscrições e assim seria só confirmar tudo com os documentos oficiais e comprar viagem e reservar hotel (os hoteis são variados e em parceria com a organização). http://www.finamasters2014.org/
