New CD by bassist Miguel Amado.

“THE LONG REST” is the fourth CD by bassist Miguel Amado, after “Mensagens de Fumo” (2004), “This is Home” (2010) and “Story to be Told” (2013). 

This recording will be released in the first half of 2016. The CD features usual side-men Vicky (drums) and Ruben Alves (piano). The quintet is completed with Desidério Lázaro (sax) and Ricardo Pinheiro (guitar).

About the author

“The Long Rest” is Miguel Amado’s fourth CD, released under his own name, after "Story to be Told" (2013),  "This is Home" (2010) and “Mensagens de Fumo”  (2004). He has also been working extensively as sideman, playing with some of Portugal’s most established jazz musicians, in projects like Pedro Madaleno’s Underpressure, Spill, Ficções or LUME (Lisbon Underground Music Ensemble) among many others.

He also does some freelancer work for artists in other musical areas, like pop music and R&B. Having performed live, and recorded with a good number of Portugal’s biggest names.

In this latest recording, "The Long Rest" Amado had the most valuable contributions from several well known musicians in the Portuguese jazz scene.

Besides the performing area, Miguel Amado is also a teacher. He taught for some years in highly regarded Hot Clube Jazz School, taught in the Lusíada Jazz University and is presently teaching at Musicentro music school.

Miguel has a master's degree in Jazz since 2013.
