New Melo D Album - ”SOU(L) DE LISBOA”.

Hello!

I'm an independent artist, former member of the soul funk band COOLHIPNOISE ,  the hip hop band “ THE FAMILY “ , and PIONEER OF HIP-HOP HIP HOP. The standard I've imposed on myself  leads me to have bigger dreams than the resources that are available to me.

This year i have the opportunity to finish a project I've been working on for a few years, My third solo album "SOU(L) DE LISBOA”

 I'm glad to finally initiate a crusade for  good  and honest music made without concessions and with the commitment that has always characterized my work.

I have been fortunate to be surrounded and  supported in my creative endeavors by equally generous contributors and I hope from  all Music lovers, fans, friends, family etc. 

I count on everyone to join this campaign.

About the author

Born in Angola and raised in Portugal . Melo D awakened early to  music . creating rhymes at 13 years of age at Amadora Secondary School.

The first recordings date from the defunct music show Pop Off , at the time as mc of the project " The Family " with whom he would write in 1993  two songs in the first compilation of Portuguese  hip- hop : “Rapública”. 

During 1993 and 2003 develops work as lead singer of the band Cool Hipnoise , whit whom he would record “ NASCER DO SOUL” in 1994 , and the acclaimed “MISSÃO GROOVE“  winner of best album in the Portuguese music awards Blitz 1996.

After two years removed from the music scene , he began to t study jazz guitar in Arctic school, having been a student of Nuno Ferreira and Alexandre Dinis . During this period develops his first solo album in 2003 “ OUTRO UNIVERSO “ . produced entirely by himself, with which receives the best reviews and highlights  by the specialized press , eventually being elected   album of the year by the magazine ípsilon from Público newspaper.

Released in 2005 “Chega de Saudade “ a joint production with Enchufada label and produced in partnership with Little Jon ( mentor of Buraka Som Sistema ) , follows the same route and underlines once again a growing independent artist , musician and producer.

Between 2005 and 2011, two discs were to end up coinciding with 2 scholarships in Barcelona . The first to study electronic music production on the  renowned school of sound engineering SAE INSTITUTE , and the second for Interns in studio dj / producer Alex Brinken and this  teacher , who became a friend and with whom he shares the JAM project.

2010 Year of launch JAM electronic music project  based in Barcelona that already has songs edited by the publisher of Barcelona " New Music" and a theme recently released by a Swedish label,  with remixes from Soul Minority , Himan , and reputed producer Hakan Lidbo .

2012 is the year that ends the 6 month full time guitar course in London at the London Music School.

2014 is the year of the return with the 3rd solo album . A disc that reveals a new musical stage , a new band.
