Mandela Day

On July 18, Mandela's birthday, dedicate "67 minutes of your time".

For the third consecutive year, Leadership Business Consulting celebrated Mandela Day with a social intervention initiative in a partnership with the CCILSA - Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lusa South African, with the support of South Africa’s Embassy.

Nelson Mandela believed that education is a powerful weapon to change the world and inspired by that lesson, next July 18 we will join 62 children in an educational action in the Pavilion of Knowledge - Ciência Viva (from 10h00 - 13h00).

Because investing in Education is investing in the future, we thank your donation for the transport and food snack of our children.

About the author

CCILSA is an entity that promotes the social, cultural and economic connection between Portugal and South Africa.

The team members of this initiative, Mandela Day, are Sandra Correia and Carlos Oliveira.

In 2014, also under the Mandela Day, The EB Quinta da Paiã in Pontinha, Amadora, won a special space in its library, the "Nelson Mandela Space", full of books to develop the wisdom, curiosity and critical spirit of the younger School in a needy area of Lisbon.

And because we like to play a role of active social responsibility, through the Best Leader Awards initiative, we supported 20 children and 2 groups in S. Tomé and Mozambique, in partnership with the NGO HELPO, from 2009 to 2016. This Program for Sponsoring Children to Distance (PACD) carried out by Helpo intends, through symbolic support to a child, to create opportunities in the community of origin of this same child; Affordable opportunities not only for the child supported, but for all children residing in the community.

Budget and due dates

The transport of children to the Pavilion of Knowledge costs € 260 per bus.

The deadline for this initiative is very short, in that sense we thank you for the donation until July 17.
