We are the 1st team of Roller Derby in Coimbra, the Rocket Dolls. We are at an early stage of this project, so we need your help to create our logo, our brand!
What is Roller Derby?
The Roller Derby is a predominantly female sport, speed, contact and strategy. It is a game that is practiced on a level surface, an oval track (flat track) and with parallel skates.
The game consists of two teams of five each: four blockers (which, as the name implies, serve to block) and one jammer (to score).
Each game lasts 60 minutes, divided into two parts of 30 which in turn are divided into sets of two minutes the jams.
To score points, the jammers (which are distinguished by the star on the helmet) should exceed the remaining players, giving as many laps of the track. The blockers must prevent jammers score points, taking it to remain united, thus forming a pack. There is also the pivot (distinguished by the wide stripe on the helmet), which is one of the blockers and has the function of controlling the speed of the pack.
Instead of Roller Derby's reach Coimbra, was last February, when we decided to move forward with the first team in the city of Coimbra, the Rocket Dolls.
The team does not have any support or sponsors, so all the investment that is made, as a material (skates, guards, equipment...) is made by us.
As already mentioned, we are now in the process of creating our logo, being here that starts our crowdfunding project!
