Knitting has been recognized for its benefits of relaxation, meditation and terapeutics, therefore leading to well being. In the sense of a best offer of well being and a greater growth of our business we are openning this campaign.
What had begun, for me, as a business had quickly become in a way to contibute for the well being of others. We could easly observe the progressive calm and the sense of realization of our students as they finish a piece, and overcome their self imposed fears and limitations. In our classes we do not allow students to make depreciative coments of their selfs – we have an 0,50€ fine for every coment, never collected, but is a fun way to be aware of self-depreciation.
For me, my personal fulfillment has come from observing the blossoming of these persons, from the fact that they find here a space to relax from the chore of their lifes, a space for them. Finishing a piece is as celebrated by them as by me.
We started the store in May 2016 with the brands of Debbie Bliss, Louisa Harding, Knit Pro, Clover and Toft. And it has been a success !!! We already have a community of knitters and friends who live here, one weekly, anothers daily. But as our students overcome their fears and difficulties they want to advance to more elaborate stitches and, consequently, to more varied and better quality yarns.
Thus, we intend to advance to the brands of Eirka Knight, Juniper Moon Farm, Lana Grossa, ThefiberCº, Yarntelier *, MadelaineTosh * and Brooklyn Tweed *. This implies a new shelf and the yarns themselves. It implies, therefore a huge investment that we are not prepared to do given the young age of this store, for that reason, and because we want to better satisfy our customers we decided to appeal to crowdfunding.
