" JC Project " already accumulates a considerable repertoire and feels the need to record the first album.
" JC Project " is a project that has existed since 2011 and joining by some of the newest musicians on the recent overview of the Portuguese jazz scene. Gathered by saxophonist João Capinha, mentor of the project , each element was invited to join and be an active part of the project due to its characteristics as an instrumentalist and his personal affinity .
This project has focused on original compositions of its elements where most of the tunes are defined and worked together throughout the rearshals. The musical influences of the compositions comes since the traditional jazz (from bebop ) to the jazz of our days. Each piece has its own approach and does not require, nor obdece the stereotypes .
With the work that has been developing, " JC Project " already accumulates a considerable repertoire and feels the need to record the first album.
This initiative has been created with the aim that our supporters are able to have access to our music in a more formal and/or palpable way and give their feedback so that we, as a group and individual, can improve in the near future.
Through a partnership , the recording will be held at CCC (Congress Centre of Caldas da Rainha) on 3rd and 4th February 2014. The release date is scheduled for the end of March, beginning of April on the next year .
The main expenses that we are putting in this initiative are mastering, graphical/design work , duplication , piano tuning and legal registration of tunes. The remaining costs shall be borne by the group .
We want more people to hear us and that they can have access to the music we do and what we believe .
