What is Formula Student?
Formula Student is the biggest university competition for mechanical engineering and elecrotecnic worldwide, in which participate the very best universities from all over the world, in which the final objective is to design and produce a high performance F1 type vehicle, taking it to its limits in the legendary Silverstone circuit.
What is ISEL FS?
We are the first ISEL team participating in this competition. The team is formed by go-ahead students from several engineering areas with a common dream. The school is also known to help develop complete engineers, preparing them for their professional future, challenging them to create, develop, innovate and think ahead.
What will we do?
Project and build a high performance prototype, F1 like, technologically strong but also environmentally friendly.
Your help is important!
For this years challenge it is necessary to found at least 6.000€ to take the team to Silverstone to show the project, with the deadline April 2014!
The first phase of the competition will take place in Silverstone from 9 to 13 of July 2014. Next it is necessary to start the construction of the vehicle, which will be taken to Silverstone Summer 2015 to compete in class 1. For this phase we will need 30.000€ to take the vehicle to the level it deserves. It should be noticed the we are building a car totally from scratch, which takes big costs for its production.
Through PPL, our objective is to raise the necessary founds to transport all 17 team members to Silverstone, where we will present our project. The 3.000€ are an estimate developed with the well known software, the Michelin Guide , using two 9 seat vans for 10 days and fuel. (Lisbon-Silverstone-Lisbon). With PPL’s help we will have the opportunity to represent our nation in a international competition.
