Visit of InMotion to scientific congress in Vienna - for the future of Physical Rehabilitation

InMotion is a project developed by 5 IST students, members of JUNITEC. We want to introduce our project to the SegaH'18 conference in Vienna, so we ask for and appreciate your contribution, so as to help with the travel expenses!

We introduce you to InMotion!

This is a project developed by 5 students from IST (Portugal) from diverse engineering areas. The project began at JUNITEC, the Junior Enterprise of the Instituto Superior Técnico.

We believe that this project will really make a difference in the rehabilitation processes and that it will have a very positive impact on the paradigm of Health in Portugal! The project’s objective is to bring to an end the boring sessions of physical therapy, since right now there is not a special focus on the patient's motivation.

Some doctors have already given a positive feedback about this idea and we are already starting to collaborate to collaborate with some of them!

In order to disseminate this project internationally, we have made a scientific paper that was accepted by the scientific community (IEEE). And now we will hopefully present our project at an international conference. This conference, "Serious Games and Applications for Health" (SeGAH'18) will take place in Vienna, Austria from May 16 to 18, 2018, which will greatly help in the growth of this entrepreneurial project, so we really wanted to take advantage of this opportunity . The only way we can go to this conference, in class time, without being late academically, is by plane. However, we do not have enough monetary resources for this trip that is so important to us ...

However, we will not give up on achieving these goals, of taking the project forward, and, perhaps, make a difference and improve people's quality of life! This is not a project for us, it is a project for everyone, that's why we ask for small donations to the maximum number of people possible! It is these gifts that will propel us into the future!

About the author

InMotion is developed by 5 elements, a multidisciplinary team formed in JUNITEC and, as such, it nourishes the essential values ​​in a Junior Entrepreneur.

Afonso Gonçalves, 18, is a freshman in Computer Engineering, he is also a scout and is always looking for things that can be improved.

Gonçalo Chambel, 20 years old, is in the 3rd year of Electrical and Computer Engineering and is always motivated to do his job. He believes on the strength of teamwork and on the success of InMotion.

Henrique Carvalho, 22, is in the 5th year of Biomedical Engineering and is characterized by a strong sense of responsibility and perseverance. He also believes in the power of teamwork and the spirit of sacrifice to achieve the goals that he sets. He is always ready to learn and make a contribution to the future of InMotion.

Joana Pinto, the Project Manager, is 22 years old and is in the last year of Biomedical Engineering. She has always participated in different student groups, valuing the mutual and constant collection of wisdom and experiences. Wha moves her is personal enrichment and the power of believing and hardwork.

Finally, João Ramiro is in the 4th year of Electrotechnical Engineering. He is always ready to help and to find solutions to all the problems he faces, for the succes of InMotion.

In the end what unites us is the entrepreneurial spirit and the will to make a difference with InMotion!

The team of InMotion is very cohesive, united and lively, but also very responsible and hardworking. We are also very ambitious and we are willing to invest all we have in this project.

Our resilience and creativity has allowed us to reach this point, but we do not want to stay here!

Budget and due dates

The trip will take place on May  the 15th. The entry to the SeGAH'18 conference corresponded to an amount of € 1330, which has already been paid.
The team is seeking donations to help pay for the cost of flights, which is € 1250 (250 * 5).
It is estimated that the accommodation is associated with a cost of 250 € (5 * 50 €).
