GROOVEBOX ESTUDIOS

GROOVEBOX STUDIOS is a project in which the main objective is to obtain facilities, musical instruments and equipment to provide young people and adults the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument or dance and theater.

Groovebox studios is a project in which the main objective will be to obtain facilities, musical instruments and equipment to provide young people and adults living in the city of Amadora and surroundings the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument or to learn an art such as dance and theater and provide musicians and artists from Amadora and surrounding areas with a multicultural space that will include a unique recording studio and a small, multi-purpose live performance where artists can present their work to the community in various cultural strands like music, dance and theater.

Groovebox studios also intends to provide music, dance and theater workshops throughout the Lisbon area and later nationally, including schools, college venues, cultural venues, youth support centers among other institutions linked to the cultural development of young people and adults in order to motivate young people and adults to seek music, dance and theater as a way to discourage violence and antisocial behavior.

I believe that through music, dance and theater it is possible to bring more positive and constructive message that will move young people and adults.

In order to publicize the works produced by young people, adults and artists who will attend the space, we will organize interviews (also giving opportunity to those who work with the sound and audiovisual department) in which we will make an online live stream so that our artists' work can go further and be known worldwide.

I believe in our young people and society in general, and I believe that by making this contribution we are creating an opportunity for those who are most vulnerable but want to show what they can and can do through the arts and later represent our country, that more and more Portugal is recognized for its good values, talent, rich cultural character, professionalism and passion of its people.

About the author

My name is José Luís Teixeira, I'm 39 years old, I'm a musician and producer and I learned to play my first guitar at the age of 16. Over time I was also learning other instruments such as drums, bass, keyboards, which helped me a lot to develop my work as a producer. In 2011 I volunteered at ISU (Institute of Solidarity and University Cooperation) to promote a group of music and from that came the passion of teaching and helping young people and adults to awaken their artistic side and to develop their skills in the cultural sphere.
