My name is Filipa Lima, studying flute at ESMAE (School of Music and Performing Arts) in Porto and was recently accepted in WORLD PEACE ORCHESTRA an internship in New York from August 12 to September 12 to represent Portugal.
The World Peace Orchestra (WPO) is an international social solidarity organization that promotestolerance, peace and dialogue to address problems around the world such as war, hunger, poverty and prejudice. The WPO, which operates under the umbrella of the World Peace Orchestra Foundation, carries out social responsibility projects and relief society activities/humanitarian relief activities. It also aims to provide alternative solutions to global issuesand establish a “peace angle”– its own special perspective on the issues cited above. Withperformancesby itstalented, young volunteer musicians from around the world,the WPO conveysmessages of unity and solidarity through its annual “Play for Peace” concertand is privileged to havethe participation of prominent artists and political figures.The WPOaims tocreate awareness of social problems by selecting one particular international peace themeeach year.
This orchestra assumes all expenses during the month (accommodation, food, travel, etc.) except for air travel to and from New York. In this sense, it is attached proof of orchestra and my resume. Will represent Portugal once again, and wish I could count on your support!
