Kids & Seniors will be an intergenerational spot located in central Lisbon, Lapa area, with a multidisciplinary team (Technical Coordinator with a degree in Social Service, a Clinical Psychologist with large experience in leisure activities and child clinical psychology, Psychomotricity Therapist with wide experience in therapy sessions both in home and in institutional context, Children's Socio-Cultural Animator with experience in developing leisure occupation activities, Senior’s Socio-Cultural Animator with wide experience promoting activities for seniors in home and institutional context, Dance Teachers, with practice in dance therapy, a Music Teacher, organist, experienced in teaching music to children and a Fine Arts renowned Artist with training and experience in painting techniques in canvas) that will provide recreational and pedagogical activities for children and seniors +65.
Kids & Seniors will be a space for intergenerational programs and activities that enrich people's lives and will help address vital social and community issues by stimulating physical, cognitive and emotional activities.
Through the promotion of activities properly adapted to both groups, children and senior +65, they can develop their skills and abilities in a familiar, personal and harmonic environment.
Indoor/Outdoor Activities for children and seniors to be developed:
- Geriatric Gymnastics
- Creative writing workshops for children
- Atelier of child and senior music and sounds
- Children's dance classes
- Children and senior arts workshop
- Outdoor activities for children and seniors
- Supervised study (ages 6 to 15 yrs.)
- Child and geriatric psychology workshop
- Children and Senior’s psychomotor activities
- Kids & Seniors is expected to open to the public in December 2013, if all proper working conditions have been met, enabling to fulfil its strategy.
- Raising Kids & Seniors members will be through newspaper advertisements as well as in schools and centres for the elderly, among family and friends and street actions and via social networks.
The raising of €3.000,00 is intended to start the project (purchase of equipment for functionality of proposed activities) and to adapt the space in question to its purpose.
The project will be sustained by the fees and registrations in the activities paid by the Kids & Seniors clients. The project will also have the support of a sponsor’s network that will sustain the operating costs and accomplishment of activities in order to meet our clients’ expectations.
