East-Timor: celebrating 10 years of independence and a nation believing that she can have the title role in building her own future. A group of enterprising women that get together to guarantee the existence of their children kindergarten. Now they need a hall where they can work. Help them out!
Since 2010 mothers of 70 children that attend St. Ignatius Pre-School, get together on a daily basis in a group called “Mothers’ Club”. This group made of entrepreneurial women has been creating innovative handicrafts that are sold to promote financial sustainability for their children’s kindergarten. At the same time, these women receive training and acquire skills that empower them.
St. Ignatius Pre-School is located in one of Dili’s neighborhoods and offers a quality education, based in pedagogical methodologies that enhance children’s ability to speak Portuguese (one of the official languages in East-Timor) and at the same time improves their logical thought, self-esteem and creativity.
This year, “Mothers’ Club” in partnership with the Portuguese NGO Leigos para o Desenvolvimento, is aiming to build a multipurpose hall where these women can work and also where parents can meet their children’s teachers. This hall will also ensure the official governmental recognition of St. Ignatius Pre-School as a licensed kindergarten. Construction works have already started with funding from many people, but there is still missing funding for the roof.
The overall construction project amounts to 15.832,00 € and the roof has a budget of 3.765,00 €. This is the target that we aim to achieve. If you are an investor interested in collaborating with these women that believe that a good education is the way to develop their country, join us and invest.
