Eikasia is a science-fiction short film in which solitude, adaptation, and the need for touch and despair are dealt within the film.
Eikasia, from the Greek "εἰκασίαe", shows what is thought and known through images and not from the objects. It is still defined as the inability to distinguish between a perception of an image from anything else, not allowing people to realise if the dreams or the memories are not a reality.
The movie follows a young adult that lives in an abandoned world. Used to the desertification, he lives one night at the time, avoiding the day for reminding him of the movement of the daytime city. His dreams and memories are his escape from the reality. After some strange events, he begins a journey looking for answers.
Eikasia is a final project of the course of Cinema of UBI (Universidade da Beira Interior) of 5 students. We want to obtain a powerful movie for all the viewers and we intend to take "Eikasia" to the best national and international film festivals. But for that, we're going to need your help.
All the help provided is absolutely needed and appreciated by the crew.
