Coclea, Guilherme Gonçalves' personal music project, was born in 2007.
Since then 3 cd-r were released. The first one - G - was self-released, the second one - For those who made it here, we bid thee welcome - was released by Searching Records and the third one - Beams - was released by Rafflesia Records. Besides Portugal, where Coclea played with names like US Girls or Silver Apples, Italy and Holland are some of the other countries where Coclea also played.The release of a physical record on vinyl is one of the most important next steps. This crowdfunding has exactly that goal: to raise the necessary financial support for the release of a new album.

THE ALBUM
This new self-titled album was recorded over 4 months in 2013. Some inspirations and influences were: Windy and Carl, Manel Gottshing, Laaraji, Peter Green, My Bloody Valentine, etc.
It's an ambient record that aims to stimulate the listener to recur to their own imaginary to interpret the music. The electric guitar is the main instrument on all songs. Being heavily processed by effect pedals and synthesizers, it can create abstract and etherial atmospheres.
ALBUM RELEASE
To support this edition, Coclea is going to create a label called Piece, mainly to release it's own records but also to possibly put out other people's music in the future. One of the ideas for this label is that all the album covers should be, whenever possible, made by hand, and that the materials used for it are recycled, recyclable or used.This kind of approach will ensure that every album is one of a kind.
Coclea will have 300 vinyl copies released with a silkscreened cover and a small run of 80 copies in CD-R with a cover made of cotton waste paper, the artwork will also be silkscreened.All of the artwork was created in collaboration with the artist Tiago Borges. The label image was created by the artist Mariana DC.
THE AMOUNT
The amount of money needed is 1600€. It will be used on Coclea's production and promotion costs.
