"Based on a True Story" is a short-film fiction about a writer who comes up with a way of letting his literary work survive in a world where fictional writing is now forbidden.

The movie is, above all else, a character study where it’s explored the obsession of a man over his creation by putting on the table what he’s willing to do for it. By observing the situation he's in and by confronting him with other entities that are set in the same environment, ethical issues are immediately raised for interpretation.

Perspectivism, judgment, persistence and morality are the main themes of this project.

The short film is made in academic context, being the "Final Project" of this group of students over three years in the Cinema course of Beira Interior University. The movie will have approximately 20 minutes. When finished, it is the intention of the crew that the movie travels to National and International Festivals, initiating his journey to the public.
