BANTUMEN is a meeting point for entertainment and urban Portuguese speakers lifestyle, which wants to move from the virtual workspace to a physical one.. The goal is to raise 10,000 euros to set up an office where we can bring the team together.
BANTUMEN's team is currently led by three young people who are passionate about journalism and urban culture without barriers. From Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Sao Tome, Guinea Bissau, Brazil, and even from the distant island of Timor, our stories come from so many young people who want to give wings to their dreams. From music to visual arts and fashion, the online magazine presents to his audience talented and enterprising youth whose stories can be inspirational.
About the author
BANTUMEN is an online publication born in Angola in 2015 and moved to Lisbon in 2016. This change is due to the increase of the number of our readers throughout the Lusophone countries. We realized that we needed to "drink" from other influences and be closer to a multicultural and cosmopolitan environment that identified with our audience. The project was born from three Portuguese-speaking entrepreneurs linked to web journalism and multimedia content production who felt the need to create an online space where they could spread the new talents of an increasingly entrepreneurial and creative afro generation. Today, with two years of work, BANTUMEN has managed to win more than 120 thousand followers in social networks and reaches a universe of more than 150 thousand monthly views, with readers in the four corners of the world.
Budget and due dates
The growth of the online magazine has resulted in the constant need to have a physical space to accommodate the members of the team, where they can best perform their editorial functions. The ten thousand euros that we intend to raise will be distributed in the design of a newsroom, to the purchase of multimedia material such as computers and accessories, furniture and office consumables.
