Archikidz is a great workshop, a celebration that aims to bring a younger audience into the world of architecture in an educational, fun and creative way. Each participating child will build a model within the theme chosen for the event, while always being able to rely on the guidance provided by the volunteers, architects and other professionals of the arts and built environment. The idea for this workshop has its origins in Amsterdam. Robert Mulder, its creator, first called the workshop "...
This workshop has since been replicated in many cities around the world, including Rotterdam, Bergen, Buenos Aires, Sidney, Barcelona and Lisbon (2014).
In its first edition in Lisbon, which took place on March 23rd 2014, in the 'Torreão Poente' of the Terreiro do Paço, Archikidz welcomed approximately 180 children, in an afternoon full of fun and creative ways of thinking about architecture and urban rehabilitation.
This year, Archikidz Lisbon will take place on April 19th (Sunday), between 3pm and 6pm, in another symbolic space in Lisbon, the magnificent 'Portugal Hall' in the Geography Society of Lisbon. Archikidz Lisboa 2015 has been designed for 250 children, between the ages of 5 to 12 years old. During the three hours of the workshop, the participants will awaken and become further acquainted with concepts relating to the space that they inhabit and that surrounds them.
