The Animal Friendship project is a photographic work of Nuno Azevedo that aims to raise awareness of animal companionship, and more recognition and attention for who they are.
Due to the serious difficulties that animal associations suffer in Portugal, I decided to roll up my sleeves and launch the project Animal Friendship.
At the same time I can help, I can also do something where i have great pleasure: photography. I believe that many things can be changed in Portugal, and need to change. And this is one of them. The collective responsability of our presence here on this planet should gives us more awareness for the solutions we seek, and so, crowdfunding is a tool that lives this interpretation of reality.
We must unite in causes that make a difference, not only in the economic field but especially in the sense of compassion, social responsibility, not charity but solidarity.
I believe that this project has an array that concerns us all: how much we love animals and have included them in many important moments of our lifes. That's what I want for this project to demonstrate through photography.

About the author
Nuno Azevedo, 39, married, have two children, and I am an amateur photographer. I took a photography course in Ar.co LIsbon for 2 years. I worked in retail, training and Internet in the last 15 years.
Decided to launch the project Animal Friendship in early March 2015 because i had time available to dedicate myself to photography and join the pleasure I have in shooting and at the same time this work could helpe animals and associations that need the money.
There are several reasons that put me on the way to this project, but it is the recognition of the friendship we have and we exchanged between our human species, and those included in our life that I dedicate this project: domestic animals may they be dogs, cats, birds, snakes, rabbits, spiders, etc ... and your friendship!
Budget and due dates
Division of raised value:
50% of the value (2,500€) will be divided by 4 Animal welfare associations (Midas, APCA, Patudos Happy, SOS Moura - 625€ for each association), who have almost daily daily costs, veterinary treatments , bureaucratic costs, travel-related collection of abandoned animals, etc ... These associations survive on donations and the difficulty has been increased to maintain the ideal conditions for the animals they host. These 4 associations combine and manage the well-being of roughly 400 animals, adding to it every week come stray animals to their premises.
50% of the value (2,500€) to be invested in a reflex digital camera quality and a laptop. It is intended that the regular capture of images of these associations and their animals, along with work in Photoshop and dissemination through social networks, can promote their work while at the same time there is greater public empathy for animals in general for responsible adoption . A picture is worth a thousand words.
