Beach volleyball academy

Creation of a beach volleyball academy headquartered in Setúbal

We are two athletes who wish to contribute for the growth of beach volleyball. We started playing indoor volleyball when we were children but we fell in love with the beach. Therefore, we devised the creation of a beach volleyball academy headquartered in Setúbal, Portugal, with both educational and competitive goals in mind, represented by female and male ranks.

Our objectives are ambitious, however we propose ourselves to achieve them with all our commitment. These are: social inclusion, awareness and development of the sport, and, finally, promotion of the city. To reach them it will be crucial the cooperation with public entities, such as the City Hall of Setúbal and the City Hall of Palmela.

We realized that Setúbal has perfect conditions for the practice of this sport and we believe we have the skills and commitment to make this dream come true.

Thus, we hope you are willing to help us raise enough money to formally constitute the academy, to acquire training equipment, and for coaches' training.

About the author

We are Rita and Margarida and we will be the founders of the beach volleyball academy.

Rita is in the last year of her degree in Sports Sciences at Universidade de Coimbra. Margarida has a Masters in Business Administration from Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Being from distinct areas of education has become an added value for the project, thus having two differente perspectives that complement each other.

Even though we are the founders of this sports club, the team will consist of nine members with different areas of expertise: science, sports, management and accounting. Our ambition is to fulfill an existing gap at the level of beach volleyball in Portugal, which is not being properly developed, and for which we believe we can make the difference and contribute for its evolution.
