PORTUGALIA game, a board game to celebrate the history and legacy of the great Portuguese nation! Inspired by the mechanics of the popular game Monopoly, PORTUGALIA covers the entire history of Portugal from its foundation in 1143 by D. Afonso Henriques to the COVID19 pandemic, with a design inspired by traditional Portuguese tiles and countless other references from Portuguese folklore.

Buy Fernando Pessoa's property title, build a Christ the King or even a Belém Tower, catch a ride on Tram 28, go to prison with Sócrates, collect all the Escudos and move your bottle of wine to the 1755 Earthquake!

The complete game includes:
- 1 game board with the most historical and revered historical personalities from 8 areas (medicine, sport, arts, music, poetry, literature, history, politics)
- 6 pawns (Wine Bottle, Football Ball, Cross, Rooster of Barcelos, Coat of Arms and Caravela)
- 210 Escudo notes with 7 national monuments from prominent cities (Braga, Évora, Óbidos, Coimbra, Sintra, Porto and Lisbon)
- 20 "Cod" cards (television, culture, radio, music)
- 20 "Heart of Viana" cards (history, politics, culture, folklore)
- 16 Property Titles cards
- 1 rules leaflet
- 30 Christ the King + 15 Belém Towers
- 1 storage box + 1 holder for notes and letters
- 2 dice

LEGAL NOTE: The board design and rules have been slightly changed to avoid infringing Hasbro Inc.'s MONOPOLY trademark, and to make the game dynamic more challenging, fair and balanced. There may be changes to the final design to avoid further infringements. This campaign does not have the purpose of profit or production and retail sales in the long-term future, but rather simply to cover the costs of manufacturing and distributing the game to supporters, in a one-off situation. This game WILL NOT be put on sale after this initiative, this will be the only opportunity to obtain it.

Hello, my name is Leonardo and I make board games! :)

I'm 32 years old and originally from Seixal. I've always had a passion for board games since I was little, and over the years I learned Photoshop and Illustrator by myself, until I was able to create my own small custom design and 3D printing business. Due to the current difficult socio-economic-political situation in which we live, I decided to create this campaign in order to provide a 100% Portuguese board game, made by a Portuguese person, for Portuguese people.

Because we all deserve a good family game night!

Budget and due dates

The campaign costs are divided as follows:

€2,550 - production of 50 trays, boxes, letters and notes
€1250 - purchase of 3 FDM and Resin 3D printers for 3D printing of parts (pawns and notes/cards holder)
€390 - shipping (50 deliveries nationwide by registered mail with tracking code - €7.80/unit x 50)
€325 - purchase of dice, filaments for 3D printing, shipping boxes, bubble wrap, bags and stickers
€458 - PPL commission

The campaign will only be carried out and the games sent if the minimum objective of 50 COMPLETE GAME PACKS has been reached, otherwise the amount will be returned in full and the campaign will have no effect. The deadline for raising funds is May 2nd, with the consequent production and shipping of games by August 1st.
