Animal Songbook

Novaterra is back in the studio, now to record two Books / CDs !!! The Animal Songbook and the Bestuary, Songs for Children! Help us to realize this dream!

Hi! We are the Messengers of Nature (children's choir) and the Kalindi (female youth choir)! We launched on March 1, 2020 our first CD Planeta Azul, Songs for Mother Earth ! In the summer we went back to the studio and recorded our first Book / CD, Refúgio, The Art of protecting the Forest , which will be released in early December! And we are ready to record our next work! Two books / CDs dedicated to the world of animals on our Planet Earth! Very special books with poems, scientific comments, illustrations and sheet music !!!

The first book / CD is of poetic inspiration, it is called "Bestuário, Canções para a Infância" ! Poems by António Oliveira, illustrations by Cristina Valadas , and sheet music! Peek here some of the poems that we sing!

The second book / CD is of pedagogical inspiration and intends to make known the peculiarities of animals !. It is wonderful to learn to sing! The poems are by Ana Maria Pinto , illustrations by Graças Gama and scientific comments by Cláudia Araújo! In this Book / CD you will find the "Portugal Selvagem" Cycle, the "Species Cycle" and the so fun "Arraial do Tubarão Peixe Gata"! You can already see some of the poems here !

These Books / CD also have the participation of the Choir Makawee, percussionists João Russo, Diogo Guimarães and Márcio Pinto and an ensemble from the Portuguese Orchestra of Guitars and Mandolins!

About the author

Created and founded by Ana Maria Pinto , Novaterra, Associação Cultural Arte e Ambiente finds its inspiration in nature and in education through art, building bridges between distant worlds, which, once in contact, strengthen each other. Free, cheerful and genuine self-expression combined with the feeling of love for Planet Earth are the foundations of all your projects.

Contemplated as a vehicle for expansion and self-knowledge, singing is the main work tool. The Novaterra includes 4 choirs, which come together in concert, continuously combining singing and movement: the Choir of Novaterra (music-theater group), the Makawee (female choir), the Kalindi (female youth choir) and the Nature Messengers children's choir). The pieces and concepts of Novaterra's concerts are original and of indigenous, African, poetic, meditative and scientific inspiration.

In 2020, Novaterra launches two record works, "Blue Planet, Songs for Mother Earth" and the book / CD "Refuge, The Art of Protecting the Forest". In 2021, the Books / CD "Bestuary, Songs for Children" and "Animal Songbook" will be launched.

Throughout the year large thematic concerts are organized, crossing the arts with scientific knowledge and the environment, cycles of workshops, courses, lectures, as well as the Hearth Festival - The Art that connects the Heart to the Earth in partnership with the Municipality of Gondomar. Novaterra also develops the great project Classic meets Africa, which fuses African dances with classical music.
