The Skills and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) for supporting young people with Rett Syndrome and other multiple disabilities has a multidisciplinary team, consisting of an Occupational Therapist, a Speech Therapist, a Psychomotor therapist, a Psychologist and a Music Therapist, promoting activities in areas of art therapy, music therapy, hippotherapy, hydrotherapy, snoezelen and adapted sport. In this center, several thematic workshops are developed adapted to the abilities of these young people, with the premise of their rehabilitation, socialization and inclusion.

ANPAR (Association of Parents and Friends of Rett), founded in 2002 by a group of parents of children and young people with Rett Syndrome (RS), is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity with an area of intervention at national level, with the status of ONGPD, within the scope of the INR, IP and a representative association of patients within the scope of the Directorate-General for Health. It is also an effective member of the Federation of Rare Diseases of Portugal (FEDRA) and a participating member of Rett Syndrome Europe.

Rett Syndrome is a complex, rare and disabling neurological disorder, which affects mostly females, permanently conditioning these people in the various domains of their lives, with a tendency towards decline.

Sensitive to the theme and reality of people with Rett Syndrome and their families, transversal to other disabilities , ANPAR created in 2017 a valence of therapeutic response and to combat the social isolation of people with disabilities outside compulsory schooling, given the lack of response in the community, thus building the Competence and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), based in Seixal.
