Give it a new life, with a new purpose!

"Casa da Teresa" is a project whose aim is to create a local accommodation establishment, with some specificities, allowing for an escape from a routine of daily life with initiatives focused on cultural and social action located in the Bairrada area.

Our goal is to renovate an entire house that was built in 1957 by Teresa with her husband and family. Being a house that is about 50 years old, there are many works to be done, from redoing all the electricity, plumbing, insulation of doors and windows, sanitation, painting, kitchen, among so much more. Considering the high cost of this project, we ask for help from those who also believe in the potential and one day later, be able to come and enjoy our house and location.

Teresa is my mother, who unfortunately is no longer with us, she was a very simple lady who overflowed with kindness. Since it's your home, it's only fair to pay homage to it by giving your name to the local accommodation. The house is located in the center of the parish of Luso, with a privileged view of the Buçaco mountain range, where calm invades anyone and nature can be enjoyed in its entirety.

Afterwards, our guests are willing to provide a different experience during their stay, creating itineraries to the main points to visit throughout the area, visiting the main attractions, running trails and offering music and performances.

We already have some money to be able to rehabilitate the house, but we need help to meet all the legally imposed requirements and achieve the objective of the project as a whole. This crowdfunding appears not only as a form of support, but also as an invitation to our "Casa da Teresa" and the activities we propose.

About the author

My name is Luísa and I've been wanting to renovate my parents' house for a long time and not let it fall into disrepair. Over time I grew and my taste for travel increased. One of the requirements of all the places where I stayed was always comfort and tranquility. In this way, with this project I intend to be able to provide all these added value with possible new guests.

Although I do not have direct experience with local accommodation, in the last two years I have dedicated myself to studying them, both for the bureaucratic part of the process and for the study for its success. Various trips and experiences help the process for this future project, and at some point we have to venture out. Everything has its beginning and experience is only gained if we start somewhere. Above all, we want satisfied customers, as the saying goes: "Treat others as you would like them to treat you", and only that does it make sense. It is indeed a simple house, but we are sure that it can bring the most benefits to the mind and unique experiences, especially for nature lovers, for its trails and landscapes.

I left my parents' house at a very young age to respond to the needs that existed in the past, but it was always the calm of my village that brought me the best things.
I believe in this project and I hope you do too, I want to be able to share all these sensations with you.
 

Budget and due dates

We have already started to rehabilitate the house at the beginning of this year, January 2022, and at this moment we need a help of at least €3000 to be able to meet all the legally imposed requirements and achieve the objective of the project as a whole. In order to move forward with this project, the help we need most is for one of the next steps - the kitchen:

- Renovate kitchen (custom-made furniture set, extractor hood, equipment): 2500€
- Labor: €700

What has already been done:
- Review and improvement in electricity distribution and plumbing;
- Replacement of all windows, reinforcing the insulation of the house;
- Interior painting

What is still missing:
- Renovation of bathrooms and kitchen;
- Exterior painting of the house;
- Renovation of floors;
- External area;
- Heating;

The end of the rehabilitation of the house is estimated for the end of this year 2022.
