Give life back to Alf

Alf is a 3-year-old German Shepherd dog with severe bilateral hip dysplasia. The solution for Alf to continue walking will be a bilateral hip prosthesis, whose value is very high. Your help is very important

Hi, my name is Alf and I am a 3 year old German Shepherd, born in March 2019.

Unfortunately, I was born into the hands of unscrupulous creators.

Fate wanted me to be bought by the best person in the world: my human mother, who gave me the happiest childhood a dog could wish for... until, at just 6 months old, the first signs of dysplasia were detected. In October 2019, I was taking my usual morning walk with my mother, I felt a strong pain and started to limp (for the first time, I saw my human mother cry), and I was taken to the vet, where the exams and X-rays detected me severe hip dysplasia coxeofemural, in both legs...and then my struggle began.

After the first tests, the vet who examined me gave up on me and advised my human mother to do the same, because the treatments would be too expensive and, after all, I was just another dog.

To my delight, my human mother decided that I wasn't just a dog...she decided that I'm Alf!...and began the search by all possible means, all possible solutions and in all possible places to find a treatment that would allow me to have more health and a normal life...

In September 2021, between attempts, there was a possibility of an operation that could minimize my suffering, reducing my pain... but after the operation, that didn't happen... the operation was very invasive and the recovery was slow, very painful and with sequelae, because I still can't walk and play, and I still have several crises over the last year.

The last of the crises was on August 13, 2022... an acute crisis, which is still affecting me and preventing me from even walking properly.

Despite having started the previous treatment on the left leg, without good results, I still have severe dysplasia in the right leg.

I have been following the suffering of my human mother, who has suffered with me throughout everything, and the physical, emotional and financial exhaustion begins to be unbearable...

In one of the many attempts, a possible solution emerged, which could give me my life back... but despite all efforts, my human mother is powerless because she doesn't have the financial capacity to help me...

And that brought me here, to tell my story.

Even though for some I'm more of a dog, I'm very lucky... I'm lucky to receive all the love in the world! That love is shared and with your help, it can last many more years!

I am 58 years old and at the moment I am unemployed without any kind of help or subsidy because due to the problems that happened in our country I am (insolvent)

I managed to raise the money to carry out the operation before Alf with the sale of homemade sweets, but the budget was less, about €1200, even so it took me a few months to get that money.

At the moment and due to the seriousness of the ALF, it is almost impossible to obtain this amount in good time.

A lot of people have advised me to euthanize the ALF but as long as I can do something for him it won't happen.

The difference in price from the right leg to the left is due to the fact that the left leg has to carry a reinforcement bar in the femur
