Cliche

"Cliché" is a short film made by students of the 3rd year of Cinema at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias.

At the end of the 80s, Artur , along with 4 friends from the LGBT community, frequents Cliché , a multipurpose space that hosts parties, events and community meetings. Here, they could fulfill their most eccentric fantasies and be authentic. At Cliché , Artur can show his original creations, using the most eccentric dresses and androgynous pieces. When this space is at risk of closing due to Raimundo's decision, after receiving the news that he has tested positive for HIV , Artur rebels. We observe, therefore, how the hatred and contempt of the remaining street dwellers deteriorates the ideals of a peculiar family.

About the author

We are finalist students of the Cinema course at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologia who intend to explore the authenticity of human beings and their need to express themselves . We seek to show that each individual is unique and that is exactly what makes the world a unique place. We also want to portray the idea of ​​“Chosen Family” lived by our characters and how, when we are ostracized by social stereotypes, we are never alone .
