Crónicas de Enerelis - Volume 02: the continuation of the comic series

New journey. New characters, places and challenges. You are all invited to travel along this world once more!

On February 2021, the first volume of “Crónicas de Enerelis” comic book series – Prelúdio (Prelude) – took the readers along a journey through a new epic fantasy universe. Enerelis came to life and the first of the series gave us its first adventures on a 196-page book.

But the story doesn't end here! After all, the Volume 01 was just the prelude of this grand adventure that started thanks to the support of 61 backers!

On Volume 02, entitled Blood, the protagonists will continue their training on more than 180 pages, once again full of secrets, mysteries and a challenge that may endanger their lives.

Enerelis is one of Earth's three parallel worlds. At peace for fourteen years, it is populated by several races and creatures that were born thanks to the existence of two opposing forces, Nox and Aether, granting its inhabitants extraordinary abilities. It is in this world that Eyren Caeli, a 12-year-old boy, begins his long journey to accomplish his only goal: saving his best friend. He keep on his journey joined by Liriah, and very soon they will find out surprises marked by blood.

Like the journey of our young protagonist, the creation of this series till the launch of Volume 01 has also been quite a journey: the script was built between 2008 and 2015, and was planned to be a comic book series with manga influences. In 2018, it started the adventure of turning the script into sequential art. Later on 2020, a crowdfunding campaign was launched here, on PPL (www.ppl.pt/enerelis), to fund the print of 100 copies. After a successful campaign, on February 2021, their backers received their rewards.

The Volume 02 will reveal more the past about his young protagonist and about the world where this chronicles takes place. The continuation of this series explore the relationship among all its characters and the world around them, which allows to the readers knowing the variety of places and Enerelis inhabitants, without losing its action and humor.

In more than 180 black&white pages, this new adventure will show us that, even each characters individuality, there is always room for common goals.

The Volume 02 is finished and this is the time to tell you another part of this adventure! I count on your help to continue this series that received excellent reviews from its readers.

About the author

When Patrícia Costa discovered that illustrating Portuguese language school textbooks was fun, she spent her free time illustrating other school subject's books. But it is on library storybooks she finds a source of worlds and characters about to be discovered.

After she had finished Art Studies on Secondary School, she enters on ISCTE, where she graduates on Architecture. The following nine years, she works on an architecture firm.

However, the flame that has born on the love between drawing and writing was never been extinguished and, in 2018, she finds the opportunity of giving life to her creative worlds: she finish an Initiation Course on Sequential Art, lectured by Susana Resende. The same year, she wins the first prize on the most important comic's contest on Portugal, AmadoraBD.

In 2019, wins the third prize on a comic contest promoted by Odemira's Municipality. Also, she had participated with two short comics on Outras Bandas fanzine, edited by Colectivo Tágide, one of them was the winner of the Best Short Comic on XVII Troféus Central Comics, in 2020. She has done the art and colour for “Posse”, script by the author Penim Loureiro, for the magazine H-Alt #9.

In 2020, wins again the third prize on the comics contest promoted by Odemira's municipality.

Among other comics, she participated on the anthology “Virar a Página”, which assembled some comic book writers and artists, which crowdfunding campaign was succeed on PPL, aiming of collect financial support for Associação CAIS.

Meanwhile, she launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the print of the Volume 01 of the Chronicles, and on February 2021, all backers received their rewards.

On March 2021, Volume 01 is presented officially to general public along the exhibition “Enerelis – A Criação de um Mundo Novo”, on Montijo till June, about the author and all steps that she took to create this universe.

This exhibition is now available on Alpiarça Municipal Library till the 31^st August 2021.

Budget and due dates

It is the number of pages of the Volume 02 and each one of them was made with more passion and enthusiasm.

Therefore, each euro collected will serve to pay for the following expenses:

• Printing (100 copies, 17x25cm, Munken Lynx – 120gr paper, paperback cover): 699,60€
• Shipping (envelopes and postage): 160,00€
• PPL commissions: 138,38€
• Printing of Volume 03 magazine : 55,00€
• Printing of "Enerelis Expandido" supplement: 80,00€
• Extras (creative work, digital illustrations and other materials):  367,02€

All of these costs are rounded values (except for book printing and commissions) and depend on the number of backers. Any extra money that the campaign makes will be directed for the production of Volume 03 and continue the series.
