The Discovery of Madness is a mini-series about the story of a young woman who wakes up in a Mental Health Hospice without knowing how she got there. This is a series created by medical students, who take a look at the complexity of mental health.
"The Discovery of Madness" is a mini-web series, created by medical students, that tells the story of a young woman, Alice, who wakes up in a Mental Health Hospice without knowing how she got there. Over time, she starts to remember the events that led to her hospitalization and also getting to know the other young people there, creating friendships and becoming aware of the various dimensions of mental health.
The creation of this fiction is an attempt to show, through the eyes of medical students, the complexity of the life of a person with mental health problems. We want to question what it is considered a normal person; exploring how a family deals with a daughter who deviates from the life standards expected by her parents; explore the different psychiatric pathologies in the most real way possible and follow the path of self-discovery of a young woman who is within a peculiar world.
We need your help to make this project a reality. The various shooting days involve a lot of costs, which we are unable to cover without the help of this crowdfunding. Artistic projects in the field of cinema by the medical community are something rare, but we wanted to take this very important subject, which is Mental Health, and make it known to Portugal, whilst having the scientific knowledge of those who studied this medical field during the course.
We have had support from professionals both in the medical and cinema fields and we believe that we can produce a series that has a good narrative and cinematic quality but also that is educational. We just need your support for this great project to move forward! Let's do it?

É com enorme felicidade que vos anunciamos, após este longo processo de pós-produção, a data de estreia da mini-série "A Descoberta da Loucura".
O longo processo de pós-produção deveu-se à vontade de melhorar a série na sua vertente visual, sonora e musical. Permitiu-nos, inclusivamente, compor e gravar um banda sonora original para a série.
Assim gostaríamos de informar que a série irá estrear no dia 25 de Junho, na plataforma Vimeo e também no nosso site. Desta forma a visualização da série será de livre acesso para qualquer pessoa e os espectadores não serão sujeitos a qualquer tipo de anúncios durante a visualização dos episódios.
Como anunciado na campanha a série terá 5 episódios, com uma duração em média de 20 a 25 min, sendo que o último episódio será diferente, com uma duração de aproximadamente 45 min. Irá estrear 1 episódio por semana desde o dia 25 de Junho, sendo que temos planeado a realização de uma sessão ao vivo, possivelmente em sala de cinema, para a estreia do último episódio.
