The Das Palmas à Ação campaign is an action promoted by the Associação Académica de Coimbra, which emerges in the context of the pandemic COVID-19 that we all face, without exception. It is time, more than ever, to look at the work done by health professionals who are on the front line daily and who do everything in their power to fight this battle against COVID-19.
It is in these moments that we realize that small gestures can save lives and that we cannot and should not remain indifferent to this very exceptional reality in which we currently live.
In this sense, the Academic Association of Coimbra launches this solidarity campaign “Das Palmas à Ação”, which aims to raise funds for the acquisition of hospital supplies, to donate to the Coimbra Hospital and University Center, which will have a dedicated wing only for the treatment of the COVID-19 virus.
Let's all embrace this cause, and move from applause to action!
About the author
The Academic Association of Coimbra is the oldest student association in Portugal, founded on November 3, 1887. It represents around 24,000 students from the University of Coimbra and is also composed of 26 Centers, 15 Cultural Sections and 27 Sports Sections, making -this is a very eclectic institution.
The Academic Association of Coimbra has in its genesis social responsibility and the constant fight for the rights of students, demonstrated many times throughout its history. Its greatest particularity is also what makes it distinguish from so many others, the fact that it is composed of young students of Higher Education.
It is in the context of this social and civic responsibility that the "Das Palmas à Ação" campaign arises, which due to the circumstances in which we live generated by the pandemic of COVID-19, to which we could not remain indifferent.
Budget and due dates
The funds raised will be used to help the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra (CHUC) to acquire hospital supplies because of COVID-19.
The disclosure will be made on the Facebook and Instagram pages of the Associação Académica de Coimbra.
PPL is not charging any fees for this campaign except for the payment costs
