This project aims to build a park so that chickens can live outdoors and protected from predators, only this way it will be possible to create a flock of this breed of self-owned chickens that is in severe danger of extinction.

With this park it will be possible to start the project of creating a flock with about 100 breeders, approximately 1/3 of the animals registered in 2016, and thus increase the number of the population of this breed of chickens.

This project will be divided into several phases.

The first phase will be the acquisition of the first breeders, the construction of the park and the multiplication of the herd until the desired number of breeding animals is reached.

My first project was to plant a tame pine forest, which is now beginning to bear fruit.

My children, Rafael and Gabriela, are my support because it is in their future that I think about the realization of this project.

My oldest son is about to finish school, and it was time to start thinking about a future for him. Agriculture is a hypothesis.

At the agricultural fair in santarém, chicken production caught our attention. In researching the subject I came to the sad conclusion that industrialization is about to drive our indigenous chicken breeds to extinction, and that we could do something against it.

The realization of this project is a step against the extinction of the Portuguese white chicken, which according to 2016 data was only 210 females and 115 males in 81 breeders. Together with my two sons, we intend with this project to create a flock of around 100 breeders of this breed, in order to increase the number of breeders available and to provide a larger supply of animals of this breed to other breeders.
